Hi, I’m Alex.
I’m a reporter, editor, and project manager.
I write about modern family life as it intersects with science and technology. I specialize in service-related content that illuminates the history and context behind the way things are now. My goal is always to take seriously topics that have long been ignored or overlooked. I love stories that are weird, whimsical, or surprising.
My work has appeared in Vox, SELF, Mashable, NBC News Digital, Romper, The Cut, non-profit science publication Undark and the non-profit education outlet Chalkbeat.
In 2022, Dan Oshinksy and I began covering the independent newsletter space at Inbox Collective. It’s a stellar resource for anyone who wants to start or improve an indie newsletter.
I’m available for writing assignments, fill-in editing work, consulting on strategy around launching new initiatives (especially newsletters), and other journalistic projects where you want to get from A to B but aren’t sure how.
